GUJRAT: District Police Officer Syed Ali Mohsin has dismissed Kakarali station house officer SI Tauqeer Ranjha from service for allegedly implicating a man in a fake case.

The DPO has also dismissed two other cops and penalised others for being involved in illegal activities.

Ranjha had implicated a suspect in a fake case in addition to declaring the same suspect guilty in another case.

However, the DPO got conducted an inquiry into the charges that reportedly proved the SHO guilty upon which the said officer has been dismissed from service after the personal hearing at police lines on Thursday.

The DPO has also dismissed from service two other cops, including Iqrar Haider, for withdrawing cash [through ATM] of account of detained suspect and the two-year service of trainee SI Fahadur Rehman has been forfeited for negligence in a drug peddling case.

Meanwhile, police claimed to have traced and arrested four different gangs of robbers.

The Gujrat city circle police busted the gangs mainly wanted by the civil lines police station and recovered cash and valuables worth Rs3 million from those arrested.
