KHAR: A man was shot dead outside his house in Mamond tehsil late on Wednesday night.

Officials said the incident occurred in Inam Khoroo Chinagi area where unknown persons called one Abdur Raziq to come out of his home for an important work. As he stepped out of his house he was shot dead on the spot.

The motive behind the killing could not be ascertained. An official told this scribe that the administration had started investigation into the incident.

BILLBOARDS REMOVED: Scores of roadside billboards and signboards have been removed in Bajaur tribal district during the last few days.

Ajam Khan Afridi, a senior administration official, told mediapersons that the action against the roadside billboards launched on May 18 was underway and a large number of such boards had been removed in different areas of the district.

He said that several teams of the Levies force and district administration officials were taking part in the crackdown to clear the main artery and other busy roads of the region of illegal billboards and signboards.

He claimed that a portion of Khar-Peshawar artery from Shuhada Chowk to postgraduate college, Khar, had been cleared of all illegal speed breakers and billboards. He said that earlier the district administration had asked all the owners of billboards to remove them voluntarily, but they failed to respond.
