Arya's disappointed she didn't get to kill Cersei on Game of Thrones

Actors Maisie Williams and Lena Headey both wanted Arya to finish off her list and so did we!

Game of Thrones came to an end last Sunday and it left fans... well, it left 'em.

A lot of fan theories and predictions were proven wrong and that included the speculation that Arya would kill Cersei, finishing off her list. Guess who else wanted that to happen? Both Arya and Cersei!

Maisie Williams revealed her one regret about Season 8 being that she never got screen time with Cersei.

"I just wanted to be on set with Lena again, she’s good fun,” she said. “And I wanted Arya to kill Cersei even if it means [Arya] dies too. Even up to the point when Cersei’s with Jaime I thought [while reading the script], ‘He’s going to whip off his face [and reveal its Arya]’ and they’re both going to die. I thought that’s what Arya’s drive has been."

She added, "The Hound says, ‘You want to be like me? You want to live your life like me?’ In my head, the answer was: ‘Yeah.’ But I guess sleeping with Gendry, seeing Jon again, realising she’s not just fighting for herself anymore but also her family — it’s bringing up all these human emotions that Arya hasn’t felt for a long time."

"When The Hound asks her if she has another option, all of a sudden there are so many more things in [Arya’s] life that she can live for, that she can do. It was a shock for me because that wasn’t how I envisioned her arc going this year. Then I realized there were other things I could play, bringing Arya back to being a 16-year-old again.”

According to her, "It’s not a Game of Thrones ending for Arya, it’s a happy ending. It gave me a place to take Arya that I never thought I’d go with her again.”

Williams was not alone in her expectations as Lena Headey also wanted to share a moment with Arya, dying at her hands.

"I lived that fantasy until I read the script,” Headey said. “There were chunky scenes and it was nothing that I had dreamt about. It was a bit of come down and you have to accept that it wasn’t meant to be. There is something poetic about the way it all happens in the end with her and Jaime."

Oh well, the actors made peace with their endings, maybe we should too. But seriously, how cool would it have been if Jaime actually was Arya in a mask?

If she had killed Cercie .....it would simply have been a case of over-kill.

Definitely writer plays more with peoples expectations and prediction rather then the logical conclusion to the things. Cersesi and Jammy need to give an exemplary punishment rather than a lovers end and tayreen for his unfaithfulness and wrong advice should had be punished. As Arya character was build around her struggle to take revenge even her stupid sister. Definitely writer badly disappoint the last event s and any more sequel should be catastrophic.

About Arya wearing Jamie's face, do note that the mask changes the face but it doesn't make people taller, thinner, stocky whatever. Jamie is 6 foot 2. Ayra, a whole foot shorter. Imagine how stupid a disguise like that would be. It would have made more sense if Arya had died trying while Jamie true to himself tries to protect Cersei. Btw, the internet also wonders how it is that Tyrion just strolls into the room where they are buried under rubble while his siblings were incompetent enough to find an exit.
