LAHORE: Chief Minister Usman Buzdar says the difference between developed and underprivileged areas will be removed by the PTI government to ensure that people of the far-flung areas have the same facilities as those available to the people of Lahore.

He said he wanted to see every area of Punjab developed and prosperous. The government was more focused on doing practical work than making hollow claims, he said.

The chief minister was speaking to public representatives who called on him in his office on Sunday. “We don’t have any agenda other than public service,” the chief minister said.

He said the previous governments had prioritised their personal interests over public interest. He said the government institutions were destroyed by corruption, inefficiency and wrong policies.

Mr Buzdar said the governments kept on changing in the country but miseries of people remained constant. The PTI government had taken robust steps to improve the living standard of the common man, he said.

He said the PTI government would not lose heart and keep struggling for better. “We have less resources and huge amount of issues but our passion is strong enough to achieve the destination of Naya Pakistan.” He said he was visiting remote tehsils and districts across Punjab to know the ground realities.
