KARACHI, Jan 13: The Karachi grammar team of speakers lifted the English Declamation Trophy, while the Mama Parsi Girls’ School was the runner-up in the 11th All-Pakistan Invitation Inter-School Declamation Contest on Saturday.

The morning session was devoted to the English speech contest in which 23 speakers, belonging to 13 schools, participated and spoke on a variety of subjects. The competition was judged by Dr Sabiha Mirza, Munazza Siddiqui and Yasir Yousuf.

Individual prizes went to Zahra Sohni Khan of Karachi Grammar School (first); Sheeza Sarfaraz of Mama Parsi Girls School (second), and Nida Akber Ismail, also of Mama Parsi High School, secured the third position. Consolation prize was awarded to Abbas Ali of St. Michael’s School.

The Hasan Ali Khan Memorial Trophy was given to Ali Abbas Rizvi of Sadiq Public School, Bahawalpur.

The participating teams were: Sadiq Public School, Bahawalpur; Sh. Zayed bin Sultan Al-Nehyan School, Rahimyar Khan; Cadet College Petaro, and Public School, Hyderabad.
