KARACHI: Employees of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board raided and demolished an illegal hydrant in the Keamari area on Saturday.

According to KWSB MD Asadullah Khan, the KWSB team accompanied by the district administration as well as the area police raided the illegal hydrant near the PIDC and demolished it.

He said two illegal connections had been taken from the main water supply pipeline of the water board to the hydrant, which was sucking in several gallons of water to be sold in various parts of the city.

The infrastructure of the illegal hydrant was demolished with the help of heavy machinery; several pieces of equipment, including pumps and pipes through which the hydrant got the water from the main KWSB pipeline, were confiscated.
