APROPOS the report in Dawn Metro (May 7) about the case against the builders, contractors, engineers, architects of the structure in Karachi from which six workers fell to their tragic deaths a few weeks ago.

This is the second report in Dawn on this subject in recent days in which the name of the architect is given as Habib Fida Ali, now to be formally included in the charge sheet.

Unless there is another Habib Fida Ali who has also entered the architectural field in recent years, the one and only Habib Fida Ali, who one was also privileged to know as an old friend, passed away over two years ago. He was one of Pakistan’s most eminent and honoured architects.

The report gave the impression that Fida Ali was stil alive.

If the reference was to the firm and not the individual, that clarification is not made in both reports.
