KARACHI: Governor Sindh Imran Ismail has congratulated Sindh Softball Association (SSA) for successfully holding 6th Sindh Inter-Divisional Softball Championship which concluded in Hyderabad recently.

Karachi won the title after beating defending champion and host Hyderabad.

In a congratulatory message to SSA, Governor Sindh said that sports activities not only promote healthy environment but it also promote tolerance, unity and friendly environment. He added that sports events promote message of peace.

The Governor congratulated all of SSA officials for successfully hosting the championship and hoped that SSA would continue to endeavor in promoting the game of softball in the province.

“I am happy to know that women from all six divisions of Sindh namely Karachi, Larkana, Mirpurkhas, Hyderabad, Benazirabad and Sukkur participated in the championship,” said the governor in his message. He added that such events help spread the message of tolerance and discipline among players as well.

He also requested private and government sectors to support such initiatives in future to play their role in establishing a better, tolerant and healthy society.

The Governor also assured his full support to SSA in its efforts to promote the game of softball in the province.
