TOBA TEK SINGH: A 17-year-old girl, who was kidnapped by her relatives over her engagement some 15 months ago from her village Chak 266-GB, was murdered allegedly by her captors.

The police arrested the accused and exhumed the body from the room of an outhouse.

A first information report (FIR) registered with the Rajana police said Tahira Bibi, daughter of Ghulam Chiragh, was kidnapped in January 2018 by her cousins, Niaz and Shahbaz, and other relatives Allah Ditta, Iqbal and Imtiaz.

Recently, the Saddar assistant superintendent of police interrogated the accused and they confessed to killing and burying her in a room of their outhouse. The police exhumed the body on Saturday and shifted it to Rajana rural health centre for autopsy.

DIES: One of the three brothers burnt in a fire in their shop on April 22, succumbed to his burn injuries on Saturday at Faisalabad’s Allied Hospital.

Six shops of Lunda Bazaar on City Police Station Road were burnt when the fire started from the shop due to a short circuit, where shop owners Zaheerul Hasan, Tanveerul Hasan and Muneerul Hasan and customer Afzal of Chak 303-GB suffered serious burn injuries.

Doctors at the Toba District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital referred all of them to the Allied Hospital where Muneer expired on Saturday.

INJURED: Eight people were injured seriously when two groups fought each other on Saturday in Chak 469-JB, Dadonana, over a dispute of the share of harvested wheat crop.

The police said they attacked each other with sticks and bricks and injured Gulsher, Nausher, Abdul Rehman, Rani Bibi, Zawar, Imran, Khalid and Razzaq were rushed to the DHQ Hospital in a critical condition.

Also, four people were injured when their car tyre burst near Waryam Wala interchange on motorway M-4 (Toba-Shorkot section) on Saturday, and it crashed into a trailer.

The injured included Yasir and Sajjad of Gujrat and Mahmood and Ehsanullah of Vehari. They all were admitted to the Toba DHQ Hospital.

FRAUD CASE: Police registered a fraud case against two brothers of Kamalia on the complaint of a Chinese trader on Saturday.

Chinese trading firm Shang Wu Zhang’s owner Ye Jian Fu stated in the FIR that he employed in Islamabad office brothers Kashif and Tariq, of neighbourhood Mohib Ali Shah, Kamalia, for selling Chinese Boski suiting cloth. Both brothers disappeared after stealing Rs2.12 million from the office.

The police are conducting raids to arrest them.
