KARACHI: A man allegedly gunned down his mother and wife on the city’s outskirts early on Thursday morning, Gadap City police said.

They added that the suspect, Maula Bakhsh, opened fire on his wife and mother inside their home in Haji Ibrahim Goth. As a result, his wife, Aneesa, 28, died on the spot while his mother, Shehrbano, 48, died during treatment in a hospital.

The police claimed that the suspect had escaped but was later arrested with the weapon used in the murder.

Gadap City SHO Shaur Khan Bangash said the alleged killer was “emotionally disturbed” and had been getting treatment for the last few years. The couple had four children.
