banning plastic bags appears to be a daunting challenge in spite of the law in force.
There is a dire need to educate masses on the toxic effects of polythene bags. Its disposal according scientific method is to burn it in incinerators at 800 degree Celsius. However, it is burnt contrary to the specified method. This is injurious to mankind and further pollutes environment, adding to the misery of patients having respiratory problems.
Many countries, including the US, have banned the use of plastic bags. Polythene bags choke sewage lines and flow into the canals, rivers and sea, cause harm to the marine life. Recently, polythene bags were recovered in a huge quantity in the stomach of a dead whale. This demands a campaign to curb this menace once and for all for the betterment of mankind and marine life.
