LONDON: The next President of the United States will be elected by the women of America. This is no vague generalisation, it is a plain statistical fact, writes the New York correspondent of the “News Chronicle”. He adds: It is the women of America who are going to elect the Vice-President and 33 Senators, and 34 State Governors and 435 Representatives.

The subordination of the American male is joyfully chronicled in the magazine “Women’s Home Companion” which claims without substantiation that, thanks to wartime conditions, women will count for from 52 per cent to 65 per cent of the total vote in the November elections. But that is not all. Male supremacy at the polls, the magazine warns, is gone forever. The latest census, it points out, shows that American women now form 51 per cent of the voting population and they are getting more numerous every year. The American male, who, by this time, may be presumed to be hanging on the ropes, will undoubtedly go down before the count of 10 with this final thrust to the solar plexus. The women have it in their power to control ballot boxes in 32 of 48 States, the magazine declares….
