MIRPURKHAS: An inquiry into the death of a woman was initiated by the Digri police after her family claimed that she had not committed suicide, as was declared by her in-laws, but murdered.

The family of Yasmeen Nohani, who appeared to be the wife of a proclaimed offender, Parho Nohani, lodged their complaint at the Digri police station after which Mirpurkhas SSP Abid Ali Baloch ordered an inquiry. The family claimed that Yasmeen was killed at her home in Hussain Nohani village and hurriedly buried without informing the area police and completing legal formalities. Later, they said, her in-laws claimed that she had committed suicide.

Special guards have been deployed at the woman’s grave.

Parho Nohani has been taken into custody for interrogation, sources said.
