KARACHI: Ghani Glass, Omar Associates and Sabir’s Poultry emerged winners in their respective second-fixtures of the Patron’s Trophy Grade-II cricket tournament on Saturday.

Ghani Glass thrashed CandyLand by 10 wickets in their Pool ‘C’ match at the Rana Naved-ul-Hasan Academy in Sheikhupura.

CandyLand were forced to follow on after being bowled for 191 in their first innings with lanky paceman Waqas Ahmed taking 5-58.

Ghani Glass were only denied a certain innings win by a sparkling knock of 1235 (146 balls, 17 fours and one six) by Tayyab Riaz as CandyLand reached 216 all out in the second innings.

Slow left-armer Ali Usman was the wrecker-in-chief with figures of 6-82 in 22 overs before Ghani Glass knocked off the required runs in five overs.

Sabir’s Poultry overwhelmed Pakistan Railways by nine wickets in the Pool ‘D’ fixture at the Railways Stadium in Lahore, while Omar Associates celebrated their first triumph in Pool ‘A’ as they defeated Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) by seven wickets at the SBP Sports Complex in Karachi.

Omar Associates’ match-winner was slow left-armer Mohammad Irfan Sr who claimed nine wickets across the two innings.

Despite a remarkable 94 (131 balls, 12 fours and one six) from former Pakistan batsman Khurram Manzoor, Port Qasim Authority managed just 144 all out in reply to Higher Education Commission’s 266 in the drawn game at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad.
