Apropos the letter ‘KE misbehavior’ (April 13). The K-Electric would like to apprise readers that continuous investment in power infrastructure has resulted in exemption from loadshedding of over 70 per cent of the city.

Over the years, KE has taken various measures to streamline its distribution network, including the installation of aerial bundled cable in different parts of the city. To date, over 5.4 million people living in 328 communities have benefitted while more than 320,000 low-cost meters have been provided.

We would like to reiterate that what many consumers perceive to be loadshedding is often localised outage owing to fault, theft and kunda-related issues.

Power theft is the leading cause of faults in the system. Curbing this menace will prove beneficial for customers.

Reports of power theft may be made by calling 118 or 021-99000 or through KE’s Facebook and Twitter pages or anonymously via email at speakup@ke.com.pk
