KARACHI, July 13: A park is being built in North Nazimabad, Block-N at a cost of Rs8.5 million. Adviser to Chief Minister Mumtaz Hameed visited the park’s site to see the construction work. The adviser was told that the park would have jogging and skating tracks, and modern and latest swings for youngsters besides seats for visitors. A cricket ground, which has been a longstanding demand of residents of the surrounding localities, would also be built there.

The adviser also directed the officials concerned that searchlights be installed and a canteen be established so that visitors could get eatables at reasonable price.

Besides, instructions were issued for building a quarters for the gardener and guard at the park.

Mr Hameed directed the concerned officials that any further delay in the park’s completion would not be tolerated. He issued instructions that quality standard be maintained in the work.

He said construction of parks contributed towards positive activities especially among youngsters.

Adviser to Chief Minister Mumtaz Hameed was of the opinion that public parks played a significant role towards the mental and physical growth of children.—APP
