LAHORE: The Lahore Arts Council is holding two grand [non-ticketed] musical evenings for the general public on April 17 and 30.

The first evening will be with maestro singer Ghulam Abbas who is remarkable for ghazal and playback singing. Abbas is going to perform at Alhamra Art Centre, The Mall, after a gap of two years.

“The basic objective of holding these evenings is to provide the public with an entertainment platform where they could enjoy leading singers without getting a ticket,” said Executive Director LAC Athar Ali Khan.

The second event will be with iconic folk singer Attaullah Khan Esa Khailvi on April 30. Earlier, the event was cancelled owing to Khailvi’s health issues.

Talking to Dawn, LAC Art and Culture Director Zulfiqar Ali Zulfi said: “Attaullah is performing at Alhamra after a decade and hopefully his show will go jam-packed.”

He said both singers would sing mix melodies songs from the yore years and recent ones to entertain an audience which would comprise all age groups.
