Six jr hockey players return

KARACHI, July 12: Six players and two officials of Pakistan junior hockey team returned on Tuesday after debacle in Junior World Cup in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. They are: Shakeel Abbasi (skipper), Muhammad Nasir (goal-keeper), Imran Ali Warsi, Imran Khan (full-backs), Adnan Zakir, Muhammad Aasim Khan (forwards), Muhammad Shafique (manager) and Kamran Ashraf (assistant coach).

Pakistan finished a disappointing seventh in the 16-team competition after beating South Korea in a playoff.

Argentina beat Australia to clinch their maiden junior world title.

Pakistan coach Tahir Zaman has stayed back. He will return later.—APP
