I HAVE lived in Peshawar my entire life. This city is the biggest business hub in the province. We used to call it the city of flowers, like Karachi, the city of lights. We were very proud of our city’s natural beauty.

Whenever we had get guests from other cities, we would take them across the city and show them the different variety of flowers from all over the province. Unfortunately, these flowers have now turned to dust and ash.

The city now is covered in a perpetual cloud of dust. Why? There is only one explanation. The provincial government’s careless decisions regarding the Bus Rapid Transit project.

The entire project is mismanaged and the construction activity is harming the citizens’ health rather than making their lives easy as promised by the BRT. We are now facing allergies, traffic jams and other issues.

I request the government to take notice before it is too late.
