LAHORE: The Regional Police Officers (RPOs) Conference on Monday gave approval to replicate Lahore police’s mobile application ‘E-Gadget’ province-wide to curb mobile phone theft and other related crimes.

Chaired by Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Amjad Javed Saleemi, the conference also called an upcoming RPO conference crucial. It stated that the upcoming meeting will be about the statistics pertaining to the registered crime and proclaimed offenders to know the real situation on district level.

Monday’s conference also decided to train two officers in each district to activate the E-Gadget app across the province. It was also decided to add another facility for plaintiffs to download a copy of their first information report through a system from home or other destination instead of visiting police stations.

Another system is also near completion through which the process of pension will be completed three months before the retirement of officers/officials. For this purpose, the IGP directed all the RPOs and district police officers to examine the record of retired officials on monthly basis and execute all their cases as per policy.

He also directed them to manage training of all the accountants in police training college Lahore so that they could complete matters of pay and pension through the system in question.

He also directed the RPOs to submit detailed reports within a week regarding pending cases of recruitment of children of martyred police officials.

The RPO conference decided to digitise all development projects of the police by Police Development Management System.
