MINGORA: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan inaugurated a gas supply project for Swat district on Sunday.

Speaking at the function in Balogram, he said the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf-led government wanted speedy development of Malakand division.

Provincial minister for minerals Dr Amjad, DDAC chairman Fazal Hakim Khan, MNA Saleem ur Rehman, and other PTI leaders were also present.

Mr Mahmood said no government in the past was sincere in development of Malakand division. He said with the laying of 12-inch diameter gas pipeline issues of gas outages and low pressure would be resolved.

The 102km gas pipeline project for Swat has been complete at a cost of Rs2.2 billion.

The chief minister said he wanted durable development of Malakand division. “We will bring an era of development and prosperity in the region and I believe that common people have already realised the change,” he said.

He said bringing real development was the manifesto of PTI for which several mega development projects were initiated. “The Swat Motorway will also be extended from Chakdara to Mingora while a tourism hub will be established for promotion of tourism,” he said, adding Malakand division had great potential for tourism which would not only generate revenue but also employment opportunities.
