THE Australian terrorist’s attack on two mosques in New Zealand is irrefutable proof of anti-Islam sentiments in sections of Western society. This latest example of Islamophobia indicates this malady has spread like cancer.
The Muslim world needs to act decisively to address anti-Islam
elements. It should be the 57-nation Organisation of Islamic Conference that should take the lead but alas the OIC is nothing more than a card box organisation that is not taken seriously by anyone even the Muslims.
It is time the Muslim peoples unite on one platform and demanded that the international laws of protection of religions and their places of worship enshrined in the UN charter are enforced while Islamophobia receives the same treatment as denying the Holocaust.
