PSL matches in Karachi were well received, and the euphoria was palpable.
However, the arrangements for security included the blocking of roads to two hospitals (Liaquat and Aga Khan) on the road to the National Stadium.
Coming through Bahadurabad , you will find four entry points to the road to where these hospitals are located. All had been blocked at 8.30am when I encountered this closure. One had to make a long detour to reach the hospitals.
The question is: when the match started at 7:00pm, why were these roads blocked at 8:30am? All I can say is that the arrangement was ludicrous. The powers that be that made this arrangement should have been more reasonable.
