Sindh, Culligan register throwball victories

PESHAWAR: Sindh beat Fata2-0 in the mens category while Culligan beat Punjab 2-1 in the women’s category on the opening day of the National Throwball Men and Women Throwball Championships here at University of Peshawar on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, defending champions Sindh beat Fatain both men and women categories respectively while KPK also won both its matches on the day.

Zila Nazim Arbab Asim Khan was the chief guest on the occasion and declared open the championship in a colourful atmosphere.

Also present were Khaliqur Rehman, MPA and President KP Throwball Association, Faiza Amir, President Pakistan Women Throwball Association, Bahre Karam, Director University of Peshawar, Maqbool Arain, Secretary General PTF and others.

Twelve teams each for men and women are taking part in this four-day event which has been jointly organised by Pakistan Throwball Federation & KP Throwball Association.

Results:

Men’s: Sindh beat Fata 2-0; KPK beat Abdul Waleed Khan University 2-0.

Women’s: Culligan beat Punjab 2-1; Sindh beat Fata, 2-0; Baluchistan beat Islamabad 2-0; KPK beat Gilgit Baltistan 2-0 and Punjab beat Police 2-0.
