PESHAWAR: Qaumi Watan Party, Mazdoor Kisan Party, Awami Workers Party, National Party and Pakhtunkhwa Olasi Tehreek have agreed in principle to launch a joint struggle for the rights of Pakhtuns.

According to a statement issued here on Thursday, the leadership of the five parties held a meeting to come up with a strategy to launch the joint struggle.

QWP had convened the meeting of Pakhtun nationalist forces to devise a strategy to cope with the challenges being faced by Pakhtuns.

The leaders of Mazdoor Kisan Party, Awami Workers Party, National Party and Pakhtunkhwa Olasi Tehreek attended the meeting to discuss the prevailing political situation and the issues of Pakhtuns in the region.

The representatives of various parties including Afzal Shah Khamosh, Gul Haider Khan, Shakil Waheedullah of Mazdoor Kisan Party, Mukhtiar Bacha, Prof Dr Sarfaraz and Qaiser of National Party, Akhundzada Haider Zaman, Fazle Maula and Qazi Hakim of Awami Workers Party, Ajmal Afridi, Zahir Shah Safi and Syed Majid Jan of Pakhtunkhwa Olasi Tehreek attended the meeting.

Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao, Advocate Asad Afridi, Advocate Mohammad Jamil, Tariq Ahmad Khan and Dr Alam Yousafzai represented QWP at the meeting. The participants of the meeting agreed to disclose future line of action during a press conference shortly to start coordinated work for the welfare of Pakhtuns.
