QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani chaired a meeting of the social welfare department and revie­wed measures to establish a child protection bureau (CPB) in the province.

Provincial Minister for Social Welfare Mir Asad­ul­lah Baloch, secretary Abdul Rauf Baloch and deputy secretary Saeeda Manan, chief minister’s focal person on social welfare Taj Gichki, child protection officer for Unicef Bushra Ajmal and other government officials attended the meeting.

Rauf Baloch informed the meeting that the social welfare department was utilising all resources to establish an effective CPB in Balochistan on the pattern of Punjab.

“The provincial government is responsible for providing better care and environment to orphans and poor children and civil society members and stakeholders should also come forward to help the government in this regard,” he said.
