SUKKUR: Two more pension centres — one in Kandhkot-Kashmore and the other in Shikarpur — were inaugurated on Tuesday to facilitate prompt and safe disbursement of pension and to resolve the issues faced by retired government employees in the district concerned.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremonies, Accountant General Sindh (AG Sindh) Ghufran Memon said that such centres were being established at each district accounts office (DAOs) of the province. Many have already been set up and the remaining will be established very soon; all of them will start functioning before June end, according to Mr Memon.

The AG said that all district officers had been told to keep retiring workers’ papers ready much before time so that not a single day’s delay was caused in disbursing pension. He said the problems faced by pensioners would be resolved there and then and if complaints of negligence or non-cooperation were received, the officers concerned would face the music.
