KARACHI, July 7: A doctor was killed when he offered resistance to bandits who were attempting to snatch his cellphone in Gizri on late Thursday night. Clifton Town Police Officer Imran Shaukat said that the suspect was identified as Imran. The police officials on patrolling got alert when the man resisted three bandits. The police reached the spot and arrested one of them while two others fled.

According to police, the victim identified as Dr Moosa of the Jinnah Hospital was shot at and wounded during the scuffle and was sent to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Meanwhile, bandits either snatched or stole 140 mobile phones, seven cars and 13 motorcycles on Thursday in different localities.

Besides, six cars were hijacked and the other one was stolen in various areas. The bandits snatched six motorbikes at gunpoint and stole seven others in different towns of the city.
