Azan on TV

Published March 6, 2019

WHEN I moved to the United Kingdom for my higher education, the one thing I missed most about Pakistan was the regular sound of Azan (call for prayers) on TV and radio.

When I returned home permanently in 2008 during the TV channels boom period, I was disappointed to notice that the Azan had disappeared from all TV and radio channels. The same was the case with quotations from the Holy Quran and Sunnah.

In light of the fact that we live in country which is an Islamic republic, I request the regulatory authorities to direct all TV and radio channels to announce time for Azan besides broadcasting Quran and Sunnah quotations after programmes and news bulletins.
