LAHORE: The Counter Terrorism Department claims to have foiled an attempt of exploding gas pipeline in Bahawalpur and arrested two militants.

An official said the militants arrested by the CTD included Dost Muhammad alias Dosu and Ataullah of proscribed organisation -- Balochistan Republican Army.

He said the raiding teams recovered two kilo explosive material, detonators, time devices and five hand grenades from them.

The arrested terrorists revealed that their prime target was to destroy the main gas pipeline in Bahawalpur and in this respect they were funded by commander Baghi of BRA who was in Afghanistan these days.

The accused confessed that they were also involved in two previous such attacks in Rahim Yar Khan, claims the CTD official.
