St Paul Red clinches women’s softball title

KARACHI: St Paul Red overpowered St Paul Yellow by 7-5 to clinch the Silver Jubilee St. Paul Women’s Softball Championship title here on Friday.

Meanwhile in junior category event, St Paul Green defeated St Paul Blue by 8-4 in the championship which was held in collaboration with Softball Federation of Pakistan (SFP).

Chairperson SFP Tehmina Asif was the chief guest during the closing ceremony and distributed the prizes and trophies. Addressing on the occasion, she said that there are a lot of more things to be done to promote sports in the country which had previously been ignored.

“We would not only been popularizing sports but would also be winning laurels for the country by participating in more international events,” she said.

The SFP chief further said that SFP would do its best to hold international events and hosting foreign coaches.

Also present on the occasion were St. Paul School Principal Leonard Dias, Director National Softball Academy Mohammad Nasir, School Coordinators Rose Maria Alfons and Elizabeth Gill, Faraz Ijaz and Naheed Liaquat.
