Quran in talk shows

Published February 22, 2019

APROPOS the letter ‘Quran in talk shows’ (Feb 17). The writer states that our politicians resort to quoting verses from the Holy Quranic and then proceed to become creative with the truth and present reality according to their perceptions.

This is a serious scenario where religious scholars and clerics including — the imams of mosques — recite verses of Quran in five times prayers, and then resort to lies to testify as witnesses.

This is also quite apparent from the recent Supreme Court verdict in the Aasiya Bibi case, where the imams of mosques had made false statements as witnesses just to fan the people’s emotions in their over- zealous love towards religion. This clearly proves they are misusing the Holy Quran for their selfish motives.
