IGP reviews law & order in Karachi

KARACHI: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Dr Syed Kaleem Imam on Thursday presided over a meeting in DIG West office to review the overall law and order situation in the city.

During the meeting, the IGP instructed police officers to improve on intelligence sharing strategy in crime-affected areas in the metropolis. He urged the use of all operational and investigational resources to arrest street criminals and other outlaws.

He called for chalking out a better security plan for snap checking at all public places, playgrounds, main streets and roads, and also deploying of proper security at sensitive places.

He also instructed police officials to visit the homes of crime-hit victims and their families under a victim support programme. He ordered the registration of FIRs of crime-affected citizens without any delay.

The meeting was attended by Additional IG Karachi Dr Amir Shaikh, DIG West Dr Amin Yousufzai and SSPs.
