Mikaal Zulfiqar is all set to soar the skies and we have proof.

The actor's upcoming film, Sherdil finally got its first teaser, giving us a glimpse of the life of a fighter plane pilot.

Sherdil takes us back to 1965 and Mikaal plays a fighter plane pilot during the Indo-Pakistan war at the time. He will learn about the inportance of duty, honour and love for one's country along the way.

So far, we're impressed by the visuals in the trailer and it looks like the crew did their homework regarding fighter planes and how they maneuver.

Sherdil also stars Armeena Rana Khan, Sabeeka Imam and Hassan Niazi, although we don't see much of them in the teaser. The film is being helmed by Janaan and Parchi director Azfar Jafri and is slated for a March 22 release.

This will be the third film to release on March 22, along with Laal Kabootar and Project Ghazi.

The planes in the trailer are not the US sabre jets that were used in 1965. Was our objective achieved in Operation Gibralter? Did we not lose the short war? Although we destroyed many of their antiquated post ww2 British made jets we lost many of our infinitely superior US made sabre jets too.

The PAF though outnumbered by five times larger IAF, achieved complete mastery of the skies by extraordinary skill and daring. PAF's M. M. Alam is the only fighter "ace" of 1965 and 1971 wars, shooting down more than 5 enemy aircraft in combat. India as usual denied it but the PAF provided all the names and ranks of Indian pilots shot down and taken prisoner or killed. The PAF shot down Soviet aircraft during the Afghan war and Israeli aircraft during Mid-East wars. The PAF is the pride of the nation.

@Ali about time the term pride of the nation was used in expressing the greatness of those people or acts or institutions that have elevated poverty brought prosperity and good governence. By making the elements of the Establishment the only institution fit to be called pride of the nation by commentators shows the country's bankruptcy in everything else that really matter.

@rashid khan The planes in the beginning of the trailer are clearly F-86s.

@rashid khan Please go read the facts before you leave comments. P.A.F. brought I.A.F. to their knees in the 65 war. The I.A.F. were grounded by the end of the war because so many of their planes and pilots were lost.
