LAKKI MARWAT: A man was killed and four of his family members, including three women, were injured in a road accident here on Wednesday.

Police said that two cars collided near Khara Mor on Darra Tang-Chashma road.

They quoted an injured Altaf Hussain as saying that the car they were travelling in was hit by another car when it reached near Khara Mor.

“As a result, my father Abdul Jabbar, mother Qamar Sultana and sisters Deba Rani and Sabira Bibi were wounded,” he told police, adding that local residents and police took them to the government city hospital where his father succumbed to his injuries.

ELECTED: The class-IV employees union elected its office-bearers at a meeting held in Lakki city on Wednesday.

The union’s provincial chapter president Akbar Khan Mohmand and general secretary Ishfaq Ahmad supervised the election process. Gul Faraz and Ayaz Khan were elected unopposed president and general secretary of the district chapter of union.

OBITUARY: A local businessman and social worker Haji Mammakhel of Tajazai passed away here on Wednesday. He was 90. Haji Mammakhel had a good repute in the district for his social services. He was laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard in Tajazai locality. A large number of people from different walks of life attended his funeral prayers.
