KARACHI: Police have registered a case against the owner of a private school in the city’s PECHS area for arranging a function in which Indian anthem was allegedly played and students danced to the tune.

Ferozabad SHO Aurangzeb Khattak told Dawn on Sunday that police had registered the FIR against the private school management under Sections 121 (waging or attempting to wage war or abetting waging of war against Pakistan), 123 (concealing with intent to facilitate design to wage war) and 124 (assaulting president, governor, etc, with intention to compel or restrain the exercise of any lawful power) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

The police officer said the case had been registered on the complaint of a citizen, Khanzada Rizwan.

The complainant in a statement before the police said the school management had arranged the function on its premises where Indian anthem was played and the children danced to it.

No one had been arrested so far, the SHO said.
