KASUR: Three members of a family were buried alive when the roof of their room caved in on Saturday in Marala village in the limits of Khudian police station.

Muhammad Rafi, 35, his wife Robina Bibi, 30, and two minor daughters – three-year-old Eman Fatima and five-year-old Kainat – were sleeping when the roof of their muddy room collapsed.

Rescue 1122 and locals took out the bodies of Rafi, Robina Bibi and Eman from the debris. Kainat sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the DHQ Hospital from where she was referred to Lahore General Hospital.

GANG BUSTED: Pattoki police claimed on Saturday to have busted an inter-district gang of robbers and recovered illegal weapons and booty from their possession.

According to Station House Officer Mohsin Sindhu, Pattoki police raided the hideout of robbers in Jagowala village and arrested five members of Musharraf alias Musharfi gang wanted by Lahore and Kasur police in robbery and murder cases. Those arrested are ringleader Musharraf, Ansar, Younas, Asif and Asghar.

Police also recovered illegal weapons, mobile phones and other valuables from them.Further investigating is under way.
