Master Paints Blacks, Pebble Breakers in polo final

LAHORE: Master Paints Blacks (MPB) and Pebble Breakers (PB) qualified for the main final of the Hamdan Aibak Polo Cup 2019 after defeating their respective opponents here at Lahore Polo Club ground on Saturday.

In the eight-chukker match, MPB beat Barry’s 16½-15, after starting the second leg of four-chukker of the match with the deficit of 5 ½-7. But they recovered well in the second leg of four-chukker on Saturday to turn the defeat into the victory. Ahmed Ali, who struck six goals in the second leg played the vital role for the victory. Raja Mikael, Raja Temur and Matia Vial Parez added one goal each.

For the losing side,Raja Sami (4), Bautista (3) were the scorers of the second leg.

PB also defeated Diamond Paints/Newage (DPN) after a hard battle with the marginof 8-7. Juan Cruz Losada was the main architect with five goals for the winners while Saqib Khan Khakwani hammered a hat-trick. From the losing side, Salvador Ulloa scored a quartet while Hissam Ali Hyder, Mir Huzaifa Ahmed and Adnan Jalil Azam contributed one goal apiece.
