SBP & imposters

Published February 15, 2019

ON Feb 8, at 10.10am, I received a telephonic call from number 0342-5518440. The caller told me that he was speaking from the State Bank of Pakistan.

The caller threatened: “Tell me whether or not your bank account should be blocked as per order of Justice XYZ. Do not you want your account to remain open?”

I lodged written complaints with FIA cybercrime at helpdesk@nr3.gov.pk, which remained undelivered. Then I talked on their phone number 051-9330720. No action. I was told to visit their office.

Why can’t our cyber-sleuths act in real time like FBI?
