PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on Thursday arrested Abdul Samad, director archaeology and museums, KP, for misuse of authority.

As per the NAB statement, a complaint was received at the bureau against the director archaeology, alleging corruption and corrupt practices. It said that taking cognizance the KP NAB initiated inquiry into the matter.

“The accused person in connivance with others misused his authority and made numerous appointments at different archaeological sites in gross violation of rules,” the bureau claimed.

The NAB KP is vigorously pursuing the case and more arrests are on the cards. The accused persons will be presented in the Accountability Court, Peshawar, for obtaining their physical remand.
