RAWALPINDI: Provincial Minister for Healthcare and Medical Education Dr Yasmeen Rashid paid a surprise visit to the Holy Family Hospital (HFH) on Monday and hinted at introducing new health system at government hospitals to provide better health facilities to people.
Dr Yasmeen Rashid was received by Medical Superintendent and other senior doctors of the hospital.
She expressed her satisfaction over facilities being provided to patients at the hospital.
The health care minister also visited the emergency ward and old building of the hospital along with hospital administration officials to review renovation work.
The hospital administration briefed the provincial health minister about facilities being provided to patients.
The health minister also visited the gynecology ward, operation theatre and labour room of the hospital and directed medical superintendent of the hospital to provide better health facilities to patients as much as possible.
Dr Yasmeen also directed the MS hospital to submit reports on facilities being provided to patients to her on daily basis as the government is committed to improving health facilities.
She also directed the hospital administration to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) about health care otherwise strict action would be initiated against those found negligent.
Earlier on January 8, Prime Minister Imran Khan had paid a surprise visit to the Holy Family Hospital.
Following the PM’s visit, the then medical superintendent Dr Shahzad Ahmed and deputy medical superintendent Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan were transferred.
During the unannounced visit to HFH, Prime Minister Imran Khan had found that the HFH administration was negligent towards facilitating patients. Later, Dr Nasir Mehmood was given the additional charge of the HFH.
