KARACHI: A young shopkeeper was killed in a suspected sectarian attack on the New Preedy Street near Saddar Parking Plaza on Saturday, according to officials.
Nadeem Yasin, 30, was on his way home on a motorbike from his shop when armed pillion riders attacked him from behind.
He suffered critical bullet injuries in his head and was rushed to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where doctors pronounced him dead.
“It appears to be a targeted killing linked with sectarianism,” said DIG East, Amir Farooqi.
The officer said the deceased was an office-bearer of the banned Sipah-i-Sahaba Pakistan in Liaquatabad area.
