RAWALPINDI: The federal government transferred 21 officers of the Police Service of Pakistan (PSP) on Thursday night.

Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi Fayyaz Ahmed Dev (BPS-20) was transferred and directed to report to the Establishment Division.

A notification issued by the Establishment Division said Mr Dev presently serving under the government of Punjab is transferred and directed to report to the Establishment Division.

The RPO, who assumed his office on June 21, 2018, relinquished the charge on Friday night.

A senior official in the RPO office said it was no less than a surprise for Mr Dev to be removed from the post.

The outgoing RPO set a new trend of visiting different mosques in the city as a part of his efforts to bridge the gap between the public and police. But his transfer may halt efforts of the police to enhance interaction with the citizens.

Mohammad Ahsan Younas upon his promotion to BS-20 was allowed to remain posted under the government of Punjab while Fida Hussain Mastoi, promoted to BS-20, and directed to continue serving in Sindh. The services of Mohammad Kashif Mushtaq Kanjoo, currently serving under the Punjab government, were placed at the disposal of the National Police Foundation (NPF) after his promotion to BS-20.

Atta Mohammad, serving under the government of Punjab, prmoted to BS-20 will remain posted in the province while Tayyab Hafeez Cheema, after promotion to BS-20, is transferred to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from Punjab.

Irfan Ali Baloch also promoted to BS-20 and will remain posted in Sindh while Mohammad Zubair Dreshak will continue serving in Punjab after his promotion to BS-20.

Nasir Aftab, serving under the Sindh government, is transferred to KP after his promotion to BS-20 while Munir Ahmed Shaikh, promoted to BS-20, will remain posted in Sindh.

Gohar Mushtaq Bhutta is promoted to BS-20 and will remain posted in Punjab while Maqsood Ahmed presently serving under the government of Sindh will remain posted in the province after his promotion to BS-20.

Rai Babar Saeed, BS-19, will also remain posted in Punjab after his promotion while Musaffar Ali Shaikh, BS-20, presently serving under the government of Sindh is transferred and his services are placed at the disposal of the government of Balochistan.

Abdul Saeed Naveed, BS-20, presently serving under the government of Punjab is transferred and his services are placed at the disposal of the Frontier Constabulary.

Mohammad Idrees Ahmed, BS-20, serving under the Punjab government is transferred and his services are placed at the disposal of the National Police Academy.

Retired Capt Sajjad Hassan Khan Manj, BS-20, presently serving under the Punjab government is transferred and directed to report to the Establishment Division.

Shehzad Akbar, BS-20, presently serving with the Punjab government has been transferred and his services are placed at the disposal of the KP government.

Afzal Mahmood Butt, BS-20, serving under the Punjab government is directed to report to the Establishment Division.

Allah Bux Urf Jawad Akhtar Odho, BS-20, presently serving under the Sindh government is transferred and his services are placed at the disposal of the government of Balochistan.
