KARACHI, July 2: The Sindh Minister for Education and Literacy, Dr Hamida Khuhro, ordered inquiry into the affairs of Girls Primary Education Development Project-11 and Deeni Madaris Project. A statement here on Saturday said that the minister ordered this to Special Secretary Education Iqbal Hussain Durani with instructions to immediately relieve Taj Mohammad Seelro from the post of project manager, Girls Primary Education Development Project-11 (GPEDP-11).

Dr Khuhro on complaints with regard to the irregularities in the recruitments and financial affairs of GPEDP- 11 also asked to hold a detailed inquiry in to the financial affairs of the project.

She also took serious notice of the unsatisfactory progress of the project director, Deeni Madaris Project, and ordered his removal/ replacement with any other suitable candidate.

Dr Khuhro said that officers posted in these projects would have to work hard with dedication so that the funds provided were utilized properly.

She further pointed out that no body would be allowed to delay the projects.

Besides, the minister also took very strong notice of the reports about the lapse of funds allocated to various Annual Development Programme (ADP) schemes which had not been launched on time.

She asked the authorities concerned to submit reports in detail and fix responsibility of ADP funds lapse so that the action was taken against those responsible.—APP
