KOHAT: The 12th death anniversary of martyred CCPO Peshawar, DIG Malik Saad, was observed at Ghulam Banda here the other day with official honours and special gratitude by Shia community for laying down his life while protecting a mourners’ procession.

District police officer Wahid Mehmood, the family, heirs and members of Malik Saad Shaheed Trust laid floral wreaths on the grave of the Shaheed police officer. A smartly turned-out contingent of police paid a salute of honour to him. His son Malik Salim also attended the fateha.

Malik Saad was killed in a targeted suicide attack in bazaar Dalgran in Qissa Khwani, Peshawar, while inspecting security arrangements for the 7th of Muharram, on January 27, 2007.
