2 killed, 6 injured in road accident

KARAK, Jan 11: Two people were killed and six others received serious injuries when a Datsun pick-up collided with a passenger coach on the Indus Highway near the Zarkhan village, here on Friday.

One of the deceased, Rahimullah, son of Gul Roghjan, belonged to Ghariwala, Bannu district, and the other, Gul Mohammad, son of Sarbiland Khan, hailed from Mastikhel, Lakki Marwat district.

The injured — Haji Behram, Wali Mohammad, Shaukat Ali, Sher Mohammad, Hazrat Khan and Mohammad Rehman — were shifted to the Karak district headquarters hospitals for treatment.

PICK-UP STOLEN: Some hijackers stole a Datsun pick-up from the Takht Nasrati bus stand here on Friday.

Rafiullah told the Karak police that he parked his Datsun pick-up (PRO-9194) in the Takht Nasrati bus stand and went for Friday prayers to the nearby mosque but on his return the vehicle was missing.

The police, soon after lodging the case, mounted the search for the car and erected barricades at all exit points from the district. However, no one was arrested till filing of this report.
