BAHAWALNAGAR: The family and neighbours of a man missing since Dec 25 staged on Monday a demonstration outside the A-Division police station against police for not making any headway in the rescue of Fatehullah’s son Ameer Hamza.

Fatehullah, of Mahboob Colony in Chishtian, said his 21-year-old son had been missing since Dec 25, the eve of his son’s wedding. He said a kidnap case was registered with the A-Division Police against unidentified people. However, he said, even after a month the police had failed to find his son and seemed uninterested in the case.

He alleged the police were putting off the matter.

A-Division Station House Officer Muhammad Rafique said two suspects had been taken into custody through Hamza’s mobile phone data. He said investigation was under way.

PROTEST: A woman died at the Bahawalnagar District Headquarters Hospital on Monday allegedly from a wrong injection.

The family staged a demonstration against the hospital administration and demanded action against doctors responsible for the death.

According to deceased’s relatives, Shazia Bibi, of Basti Rajaywala, was the mother of four. After she fell sick, she was brought to the emergency of the hospital, where her condition worsened after she was administered an injection and she died within minutes.

They demanded that Chief Minister Usman Buzdar take notice of the incident.

According to the hospital administration, the woman consumed poisonous substance at home and died because of the spread of the poison in the body.
