Kahuta Road

Published January 19, 2019

KAHUTA Road is one of the busiest roads of Islamabad. It is the main route to Kashmir. Hundreds of thousands of vehicles use this road to Kashmir daily. Along the way are such institutions as PSO Depot, the Sihala Police College and the Kahuta plant, besides new universities.

Unfortunately, there is no overhead bridge at Sihala railway station. This creates a traffic jam. Previous governments had announced many times that they would make it a two-way road by constructing a bridge at Sihala, but no work has been started yet.

Till a bridge is constructed, the government should immediately deploy traffic police at Sihala railway station to regulate traffic smoothly. The Capital Development Authority should start work on the bridge on a priority basis to save commuters’ time.
