LAHORE: The West Pakistan Governor, Mr Mohammad Musa, today [Jan 16] made an impassioned appeal to students, their parents and the people at large to face the realities of the modern age and dedicate themselves to progress and advancement in every field.

In his middle-of-the-month broadcast the Governor said: “It would be a great pity if our youth on whom all our aspiration and hopes depend go astray and our new generation instead of being more knowledgeable, scientifically more advanced and technologically more sophisticated, remain on an emotional plateau incapable of delivering any good to the nation.”

He said other nations of the world had achieved technical advancement to an extent that man’s landing on the moon appeared to be only a matter of a few months. He reminded the people that those who were left behind in the modern struggle for progress and advancement would never be able to catch up.

The Governor said the Government has accepted the genuine demands of the students. Many educational institutions had already reopened and the Government earnestly wished that the rest too would start functioning again soon.
