De Kock, Steyn rested

JOHANNESBURG: Wicket­-keeper/batsman Quinton de Kock and veteran pace bowler Dale Steyn have been rested from the South Africa squad for the first two ODIs against Pakistan.

The duo will be replaced by Aiden Markram and Duanne Olivier.

The opening match of the series takes place at St George’s Park in Port Eliza­beth on Saturday while the second ODI will be played three days later in Durban.

Squad for the first two ODIs:

Faf du Plessis (captain), Hashim Amla, Duanne Olivier, Reeza Hendricks, Imran Tahir, Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller, Dane Paterson, Andile Phehlukwayo, Dwaine Pretorius, Kagiso Rabada, Tabraiz Shamsi, Aiden Markram, Rassie van der Dussen.
